Add Participants

There are 3 primary ways to add participants to Handrail.

  • Add Participants from the Participants Page
  • Import Participants form the Participants Page
  • Add Participant Details within a Session

Participant identification information is not required in Handrail and should only be captured with permission of each participant.

Add Participants from the Participants Page

  1. Navigate to the Participant Page and select “+ Add New Participant.”
  2. Add Participant Details, such as, contact information, job title, organization, focus area, and set availability.
  3. Associate a Persona to help you identify patterns, themes, and other important insights about your user types.
  4. Create and apply custom tag groups and tags to capture specific attributes of your participant.
  5. Select “Save” to save Participant Details.
  6. Once a Participant has been added to Handrail you can select the participant and add them to a Session.

Add Participant Details within a Session

  1. Within a Study, navigate to the Sessions Tab and select “+ Session.”
  2. Select “+ Add Contact Information.”
  3. Add Participant Details, such as, contact information, job title, organization, focus area, and set availability.
  4. Associate a Persona to help you identify patterns, themes, and other important insights about your user types.
  5. Create and apply custom tag groups and tags to capture specific attributes of your participant.
  6. Newly created Participant Details will be saved upon starting or exiting the Session.
